Bar surcharge (A), a used vertical pair on 1864 cover to Vouvray
sur Loire, France cancelled both in manuscript which has been
partly reduced and with "H" handstamps in black. Manuscript "7" in
red crayon credit to GB and oval framed "ST. HELENA" despatch
datestamp in blue (earliest recorded usage in blue) adjacent (Oct
20), "London / Paid" transit cds in red (Nov 25) and Calais entry
marking in black all on obverse. Top flap missing and part of
obverse replaced at top well away from the adhesive, but of fine
appearance and an important cover: the earliest recorded usage of
