ultramarine, size G, used with 1893 surcharged 1 s. violet
handstamp on 2 d. grey-green & carmine, overprinted "BRITISH /
PROTECTORATE / OIL RIVERS" in black, sent from Warri to London,
England, dated 19 April 1895, tied by "WARRI" squared circle with
additional strike alongside, addressed to "Frank Godden / 391
Strand" (Stanley Gibbons), with "REGISTERED LIVERPOOL" oval
alongside dated 20 May 1895. Has a central vertical fold not
affecting adhesive, soiled, the address has been deleted and
replaced by another. However, an interesting and rare stamp on
cover. Cert RPSL (2004). Note: Frank Godden joined Stanley Gibbons
