handstamps in black with Rio de Janeiro despatch cds (July 6)
alongside. Framed "P.D." in red at right and carried on Steamer
"Gironde" with "Bresil / Bordeaux" entry marking in blue (July 27)
and Basel arrival on reverse of the following day. The envelope
with corner opening tear at right and small part of flap missing
but an extraordinarily rare franking with just two triple rate
frankings known bearing this issue and mailed to a most unusual
