HELENA" cds (Feb 27) in black. Triangular "PASSED BY CENSOR /
DEADWOOD" at left in violet countersigned "EW" by E. Walton in
manuscript. Reverse with "Plymouth / Ship Letter" cds (March 22)
and Vevey arrival cds. A fine cover. Note: The sender and prisoner,
Maurice Le Gall, from Parys, Orange Free State, was captured by the
British at Mafeking on May 15, 1900 - the day before the siege
ended
