pair and three single example used with single 1864 Registered (6
d.) orange-yellow on 1864 registered cover to Locarno, Ticino,
Switzerland tied by "QL" rays obliterators in black with the
registered adhesive further tied by Calais transit cds. London "♚ /
REGISTERED" in red alongside transit (July 18) in red on obverse;
the reverse with LEYBURN despatch cds (May 10), Brisbane cds (May
13), Paris cds in red (July 19) with rate box (noted 8 grams) in
black and Locarno arrival (July 21). Listed in "The Pre-UPU Mail of
Queensland" census by Ben Palmer on page 275. Some typical slight
scuffs due to journey but a most attractive and rare registered
