1951 (May 1): Airmail $ 1'000 carmine, perf. 12½, an unused horizontal strip of five, marginal at left and at right, variety "Imperforate between Vertically" between second and third stamps, of fine fresh colour and superb appearance, unused without gum. An exceptional airmail rarity, the first example this describer has recorded Michel unlisted / Gi unlisted. Note: Yang lists the $ 3'000 and $ 5'000 values with this variety (Yang A2a and A3a), but not the $ 1'000, which, somewhat surprisingly, is illustrated in his 1996 catalogue.
