1892: Diagonally overprinted 25 c. black on rose and 25 c. bistre on yellow, used on 1892 envelope to Dublin tied by "NOUVELLE CALEDONIE / NOUMEA" circular datestamps in black (Aug 22). Reverse with crested flap of HMS "Orlando", but carried on French Packet "Australien" with octagonal "LIGNE T / PAQ. FR. No. 3" datestamp (Aug 27) struck in red (Salles fig. 2142). Reverse with small "H&K PACKET" datestamp (Oct 1) in black. Note: HMS "Orlando" was commanded by Charles Ramsay Arbuthnot on the Australia Station from 1892 to 1895.
