1913/18: German Airships WWI - The extensive collection of 140 picture postcards depicting various military airships and cards, some with purple 'Marine Luftschiff Detachement' cancellations starting with Nov./Dec.1914 cards from Tondern, Denmark, 1916 (March 3) card from Namur, Belgium and 1916 (May 1) card from Burgas, Bulgaria to Mannheim. Further 1917 (Jan.3) Fieldpost envelope bearing boxed "B.51 Bayr. Luftschiff Trupp 1" of Bavarian Airship Troop No. 1, many scarce picture and photo-card sets of German Air Raids on Great Britain, 'L.15' silk card, cards of different Zeppelin disasters with original photocards of shot-down Zeppelin wrecks and bombed houses, photocards of the destroyed 'LZ 85' under the command of Hauptmann Scherzer at Salonica (1916) as well as a rare 1917 card with APO 'R34' (March 23) datestamp. A fine three volume collection with all cards/covers mounted and described on album pages.
