Reverse with french type "S. PAULO" transit cds (Aug 1) in blue. A most unusual and attractive mixed issue usage for the single internal rate.

Coloridos 1854: 10 r. blue on yellowish thin paper, a used block of six (3 x 2) used on reverse of 1866 entire letter from Pará to Figueira, Portugal endorsed "via Pernambuco", paying the internal 60 reis single rate, tied by dotted lozenge in black. Charged at double rate on arrival with "300" reis handstamp in black, with "Transatlantico" violet cds of entry (15 Jan 1867). Small opening tear just touches lower left of the multiple but a rare usage.
