1858 (April 26): "Drottningbrev" single rate cover to the Hague, franked with 1855 6 sk. grey and 24 sk. dull red, cancelled by Stockholm cds, multiple Franco handstamps and red "Aus Schweden" mark applied in transit. Reverse with Stettin / Berlin railway transit (29 Apr) and next day Gravenhage cds. The stamps have been removed and cleaned causing some dulling of adhesive colours, the 6 sk. reperforated, else a fine and scarce "Queen's letter", sent by Crown Princess (later Queen) Louise of Sweden to her governess Victoire Wauthier. 1857 (November 2): "Drottningbrev" double rate cover to the Hague, franked with two 1855 6 sk. gray single examples, 24 sk. vermilion horizontal pair, tied to 1857 cover by Stockholm cds, the 6 sk. further tied by boxed red "Franco" and faint indistinct red cds, black "Franco" and red "Aus Schweden" origin mark on obverse. Reverse with Stettin / Berlin transit and Gravenhage receiver (7 Nov), closed tear in right margin on the left hand 6 sk., cover has been cleaned to return it to its original state, yet a remarkably rare and attractive franking, its desirability further enhanced as being from Crown Princess (later Queen) Louise of Sweden to her governess Victoire Wauthier; see "Queen Louise's Correspondence" by Tomas Bjäringer & Kent Ryen, cover number S7, illustrated on page 112. 1866 (November 14): "Drottningbrev" cover to the Hague, franked with two 1858/72 5 ö. green, single 9 ö. violet, and single 30 ö. brown, each postmarked Stockholm, multiple "Franco" markings, "3½" in red crayon manuscript indicating amount due to the Dutch Post. Reverse with blue Lübeck / Lauenburg TPO (17 Nov), no arrival backstamp but intact seal with Coat of Arms, cover opened on three sides, wrinkles and various repaired tears, mostly on reverse, with contents from the Queen to Victoire Wauthier, signed "Louise", a desirable royal letter: see "Queen Louise's Correspondence" by Tomas Bjäringer & Kent Ryen", cover number V55, illustrated on page 140.
